Hello! I am Merwan, a Consultant at Tyto and this is my location-agnostic life. In this series, we want to highlight the freedom our PRWithoutBorders™ model enables and how we navigate any challenges it presents.
What’s your morning routine?
My morning kicks off with breakfast alongside my wife, usually with a cup of tea and some avocado toast. It’s a nice way to start the day on a positive note. After that, I like to catch up on the news, both global and local. It’s important for me to stay informed since it directly impacts the work I do with media.
Once I’ve got a sense of the day ahead, I organise my to-do list and get down to work.
How do you organise your day?
One of the best things about working in an agency is the variety—no two days are ever the same. I plan my day around the tasks I need to tackle, but I stay flexible because things can change depending on meetings or new priorities that pop up. It keeps things interesting and dynamic.
When are you the most productive?
Mornings, for sure. That’s when I feel the most energised and clear-headed, so I try to knock out the bigger tasks on my list early in the day. It’s a good way to make the most of that fresh morning energy.
What is your favourite workplace?
I have a comfortable setup in my home office, but I like to mix it up. Sometimes, I’ll work from the kitchen, the living room, or even my bedroom. It helps keep things fresh and allows me to stay productive no matter where I am in the house.
What’s your favourite thing about working remotely?
The flexibility, hands down. Being able to manage my day and still have quality time with my family is a huge plus. There are always going to be high-pressure moments and quieter times during the workday, and handling those at home is a lot less stressful than in an office. I have the freedom to focus when I need to and unwind with my family during the slower moments. It’s the best of both worlds.
What do you miss about working in an office?
I’d say the social interactions. It’s nice to have those spontaneous chats and be around people. Working remotely has a lot of perks, but sometimes I do miss the daily buzz of being in an office.
What’s your secret weapon?
My family, without a doubt. When work slows down a bit, taking a break to share a laugh with them really helps me recharge and come back to my tasks with a fresh perspective.
What is the culture like at Tyto?
Tyto’s culture is something I really appreciate. It’s a place where everyone’s individuality is valued, but there’s also a strong sense of working toward a common goal. The company gets that personal wellbeing is important for professional success, and they’ve created a supportive environment that respects the balance between work and personal life.
What do you like most about working at Tyto?
What I love most about working at Tyto is the balance it allows me to maintain between my job and my personal life. Working from home gives me the flexibility to stay connected with my family while also being productive at work. It’s a freedom that I value a lot, and it’s something I wouldn’t give up easily.
