Hello! I am Tim, a Consultant at Tyto and this is my location-agnostic life. In this series, we want to highlight the freedom our PRWithoutBorders™ model enables and how we navigate any challenges it presents.
What’s your morning routine?
I always get up early. Working remotely from home means I don’t have to commute, so I use the time I would normally spend stuck in traffic to go for a morning walk. This gives me a chance to think about whatever is on my mind, enjoy some music, and get a big chunk of my daily 10,000 steps in. Recently, I’ve also started indoor rock climbing in the mornings, which I’m really enjoying.
How do you organise your day?
I kick off my day by checking my schedule and setting priorities. I use Slack and Todoist to keep track of everything. I like to tackle the toughest tasks first while I’m fresh. At the end of the day, I review what I’ve done and plan for tomorrow. It keeps me on track and productive.
When are you the most productive?
For me, productivity peaks right after my morning walk. There’s something about the fresh air and a bit of exercise that clears my mind and energises me. Once I return, I sit down with my first cup of coffee, and that’s when I truly feel ready to tackle the day. This routine sets a positive tone, and I find that I can charge into my tasks head-on, making the most of my time and delivering the best results for our clients.
What is your favourite workplace?
Anywhere with good coffee, strong Wi-Fi, and a reliable outlet to charge my laptop! Whether it’s a cosy café, a bustling co-working space, or even the comfort of my own home. Working in PR means I need to stay connected and creative, and the flexibility to choose my workspace helps me stay inspired and productive. It’s one of the best parts of being part of a location-agnostic PR agency – the world is my office!
What’s your favourite thing about working remotely?
My favorite thing about working remotely is the flexibility it offers. It has allowed me to fulfill a lifelong dream of living and working abroad in Barcelona. Beyond that, it gives me the freedom to enjoy smaller perks, like going indoor climbing in the morning when the gym is less crowded. I also get to collaborate with people from all over the world, which I love because I’m always eager to learn about different cultures and meet new people!
What do I miss about working in an office?
Coworkers critiquing my music tastes, having to deal with very loud phone calls when I’m trying to focus, and one-hour delays on my journey to and from the office. Just kidding, of course! Honestly, I haven’t missed working in an office at all. I believe that working remotely is far superior, as long as you maintain clear communication with coworkers, don’t spend all your time at home, and make sure to actively schedule non-business catch-ups with colleagues.
What’s your secret weapon?
I’d say my secret weapon is my boundless curiosity and flexibility. Whatever challenge comes my way, I’m eager to dive in head-first, learn from the experience, and strive for the best possible results. I consider myself a true multipotentialite, meaning that I have a wide range of interests and passions that I actively pursue. For example, some of my interests include playing four different instruments, golfing, padel, rock climbing, reading Stoic philosophy, and collecting records. I also enjoy attending operas, video editing, gaming, and riding motorcycles. If there’s something new to discover or try out, count me in!
What is the culture like at Tyto?
The culture at Tyto is unique and truly special. Despite working from all over the world, there’s a real sense of closeness among us. There’s also a lot of support and consideration for our individual goals and ambitions, both personal and professional. This supportive culture creates a great environment to work in, and I believe it’s reflected in the high-quality work we deliver to our clients and the very positive feedback we regularly receive from them.
What do you like most about working at Tyto?
What I like the most is that we truly are borderless. This is reflected in the work we do for our clients in different markets, our amazing international team, and, of course, in our location-agnostic work model. For me, this means I get to work with people from all over the world, from the city I’ve always dreamed of living in, while delivering high-quality work and developing myself both professionally and personally on an international stage.
