Ruth Walters is a Senior Director at Tyto. In this role, Ruth is responsible for driving client results from campaign inception to supporting growth that matches the core business objectives of all her partners.
Ruth’s experience spans global B2B and B2C campaigns across multiple sectors which include: technology, healthcare, retail, FMCG and finance. Ruth especially loves responding to briefs for B2B clients that are looking to reach a more consumer audience and driving ideas and campaigns accordingly.
Cybersecurity PR was Ruth’s first port of call as a graduate, taking her off many junctions of the M4 to client HQs before heading for the bright lights of the capital for a more diverse tech role. Joining a telco team, Ruth later moved into mobile devices which paved the way for a more B2C portfolio. Ruth has led major experiential campaigns for GoPro, Johnson&Johnson, Samsung and Microsoft. Ruth however stands by the absolute power of more traditional media relations and still nothing compares to landing an FT hit!
A close second to working with the Financial Times for Ruth was getting to watch the UK’s much anticipated Christmas advert before everyone else. For a self-confessed retail obsessive, four years in a marcomms role for John Lewis, was a real wish come true.
More recently and by complete contrast, Ruth returned to cybersecurity where she has led accounts through funding rounds and pre-IPO stages, supporting podcast launches and powerful thought leadership campaigns. Ruth especially loved collaborating with North American partners during this time.
Ruth is celebrated by clients and colleagues for her can-do attitude and quick thinking. Ruth has fulfilled everything from last minute event compere duties to once dressing as a blood clot for a DVT campaign for a major airline. TLAs are Ruth’s specialist subject given her tech and retail heritage. Ruth is an award-winning plate spinner, leading a busy life as a young family of four in South Wales. Fresh air is her tonic.
