Associate Director – Creative Planning

We will be hiring for this role across Europe. Candidates are required to be highly proficient in spoken and written English with relevant sector experience in one of our core markets (UK, France or Germany).

This role is designed to support the agency and Tyto’s Partner for Creative Planning in driving Tyto’s creative output at the highest levels, both through direct work and through upskilling the wider team.

This role is 70% billable client work and 30% non-billable to include new business, creative leadership and internal projects.

Through your billable work, you will take a leading role on client accounts helping to unpick client business challenges by devising programmes that can be implemented client teams as well as by providing ongoing creative counsel. You will excel at understanding our clients’ business objectives, their industries and target audiences, working both directly with clients and Tyto account leads to ensure the agency’s work delivers the maximum business value.

This client role will involve the following:

  • You will be assigned to specific clients in an ongoing capacity and have a floating consultancy on significant clients on as ‘as needed’ basis to support the account teams.
  • You will take the lead on the creative response to new briefs from assigned clients, securing details directly from the client and ensuring briefs are fit for purpose and measurable and working with the agency team to lead our response, taking overall responsibility for creative planning.
  • You will proactively seek out and provide ongoing support to the agency account team in delivery of these briefs, ensuring that content and outputs deliver on the requirements.
  • You will identify and pursue organic growth opportunities with your assigned clients and support other account teams in developing new ideas and proposals for organic growth.
  • You will proactively build, maintain and grow relationships with internal account teams and clients in order to identify opportunities for adding value and ensure our creative output is of a high and consistent standard across the agency.

In your non-billable capacity you will take a leading role on assigned new business briefs supporting the designated lead client partner and deputy, Head of Strategy and the CEO in leading our creative response. This new business role will involve:

  • Working with Tyto insights specialists to understand client briefs, capture creative briefs, run creative sprint processes, and then contribute creative campaigns and approaches to the final new business proposals.
  • You will where required play a key role in the presentation of proposals to new clients.

More broadly, in your non-billable role, you will support the Partner for Creative Planning in honing and improving the agency’s creative processes and best practice so as to upskill the team and improved the agencies overall creative output. This role will involve:

  • Continually assessing our creative outputs and processes
  • Proposing and developing new ways of working
  • Identifying training and upskilling requirements for the team and working with the Heads of Experience to scope and execute these programmes.
  • Understanding latest creative developments and trends in our field of PR and communications
  • Work with the Head of Strategy and Partner for Creative Planning to develop and maintain Tyto’s Playbook.

Given the critical and central role you play on client programmes and in new business it is essential that you excel as a collaborator with colleagues and clients.

This role reports to Tyto’s Partner for Creative Planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigned clients
    • Leadership of creative proposals
    • High level creative counsel
    • Creation of internal briefs, creative sprint briefs and quality control of creative output
    • Ad hoc client assignments
    • Proactively seek out opportunities to contribute to client proposals and creative problem solving across the agency
    • Provision of counsel and guidance to junior team members in creation of proposals
  • New Business
    • Work with the head of strategy and insights specialists to interpret briefs
    • Lead the creative response to new business briefs
    • Manage the creative sprint process on assigned opportunities and capture Tyto’s creative thinking in proposals
    • Present Tyto’s creative response to new business briefs where required
  • Internal
    • Support the Partner for Creative Planning on the improvement of Tyto’s creative processes to enhance the quality of our output as an agency
    • Drive training recommendations for the company and individuals that will enhance our creative output and culture
