“Over the next decade, IoT will continue to deliver tremendous gains in productivity. It will unleash vast volumes of data and accelerate process automation in both consumer and industrial markets. Nevertheless, for the foreseeable future, there will be many processes that are neither practical nor desirable to automate. For example, in many industries, the management of critical events and alarms will still require human action. Hence, in addition to the efficient collection and analysis of data to gain critical insight, an increasingly important consideration in the design of future IoT systems will be the streamlining and optimisation of human interaction.”
