Ellen Raphael is co-founder and head of insights at Tyto. In this role Ellen delivers an integrated research and insights approach to inform campaigns that will deliver their objectives whilst remaining true to the company’s purpose. Ellen also provides senior counsel on issues and crisis management; food, science and health accounts; and events.
Ellen has worked in PR and strategic communications for over 15 years. Most recently Ellen was at MSL GROUP, London where she worked with the Corporate, and Planning and Insights, teams for clients including AstraZeneca, EY, Coca-Cola, P&G and the International Sweeteners Association.
Prior to that Ellen was Director UK at the science advocacy charity, Sense About Science. Working to equip the public with the tools to better participate in contentious debates around science and technology, Ellen was responsible for international communications, external stakeholder relationship management and advocacy work, as well as media relations and public affairs. Ellen started her communications career at Regester Larkin, a specialist risk issues and crisis communication agency where she worked across Europe, and the Middle East advising food, oil, gas and telecommunications clients on potential risk issues and devised crisis communications plans and training.
Ellen is passionate about using research to create programmes of work that are insightful, that create new meaningful communications spaces for companies and brands to occupy, and that make a measurable difference. Ellen’s other communication passion is for events, and she’s proud to have organised and run many events and conferences across the globe, including for medical doctors, scientists, industry experts, university students, MPs, and the general public on themes including type 2 diabetes, scientific peer review, nanotechnology, accountancy careers and more!
